Biocaracol is a portuguese company, specialized in the marketing of shellfish, based on family tradition activity, with over 30 years of experience and dedication to the snail.

Excelling its activity by innovation, the last few years, Biocaracol invested in facilities and equipment that ensure the maintenance of high standards of quality, hygiene and safety being the first company in the industry certified with the Quality Management system. This investment allowed optimizing the entire marketing process, from the preparation, packaging and distribution, guaranteeing the consumer a high quality product.

The snails we sell are from the wild and natural environment.



Snails are considered delicacies in Portugal and in several countries around the world, with special focus on Europe. Served as appetizer, snack and in some cases as a main course, snails are a food that, besides being very tasty, is extremely high in protein, low in calories and fat.
Due to its high content of vitamins C and D, as well as essential amino acids, and according to several scientific research studies, regular intake of snails, contributes to the well being and prevents diseases such as cardiovascular accidents.




Biocaracol’s snails are created in the wild, feed with organic and 100% natural food. They are only collected when they reach adulthood thus ensuring the highest quality of specimens. The preparation for consumption and its distribution goes through a long process that fulfills high standards of quality to ensure they reach the final consumer in the shortest time and in perfect condition.

Biocaracol products are available fresh and frozen, and each of these can be purchased cooked (ready to eat) or precooked (15 minutes of cooking to suit every taste).
